Smile, it's painless!

We must be crazy, why else would we be going to Michigan now? We leave Florida on Friday and won't return until next month. We go at this time every year because it's Gene's parents' anniversary (59) and his dad's birthday (83). The high today in Lehigh Acres, FL was 91˚ F and the high in Fremont, MI was 45˚ F. I'm gonna freeze my buns off! Which isn't necessarily a bad thing - I could use less buns. But that's not the point, the point is that it's cold up there and warm here. Somebody talk me out of it will you?

I really do want to go, though. I'm going to see my older brother for the first time since 1999. We've got a big get-together planned and I'm hoping my younger brother can get up there from Tennessee. Then we'll have all 5 of us together. Gene is very frightened of that happening and wants to be elsewhere, but I won't let him. We are a rowdy bunch when we get together.

Gene and I will be staying at his parents' house while we're there, except for 2 nights when my sister and I will be staying at a resort, called The Shack, for my family doin's. Gene's scared of us I tell ya!
