Smile, it's painless!

Gene and I have finally become parents. Foster parents, that is, to a sweet 19 year old girl named Carrie. We've known her parents forever (I attended her mom's high school graduation) and Carrie has always been special to us.

After her HS graduation on June 3rd in Michigan she came to Florida to live with us. We're enclosing the back porch (23' x 9') to make a bedroom for her and having fun getting her settled.

This is a big adjustment for all of us. Gene and I never had any children and it's been just the 2 of us for over 38 years. Carrie is the second of 6 children and is used to constant noise and everything else that comes with having 5 siblings. In spite of the adjustments we love having her here and she likes being an only child for a change. Do we spoil her? You bet we do!! 

 sandyquill  met her at church on Sunday and asked me when she's going to start blogging. I'm going to get her on Mindsay soon and I look forward to you all meeting her.
