Smile, it's painless!

I never knew your name
This is the most difficult poem I have ever written.

tucked quietly far away
beneath my beating heart
another heart does flutter
but it’s only just a start

I can feel a whisper
I scarecly know it’s true
are you really there
is it really you

how can I be sure
you’re so very small
in such a short time
you’re hardly there at all

still I really feel you
surely you are there
safely held within me
floating without care

tiny as you are
my love surrounds you still
there’s a spot within my life
that you’re about to fill

slowly the time passes
I want to jump and shout
I want to tell it all
and let my secret out

there are so many things
we will surely share
my life will be much richer
when I finally hold you there

then I feel a pain
a thing that shouldn’t be
I deny that it is there
won’t let it bother me

but soon I can’t ignore
the truth that I do know
you’re being called to heaven
and really you must go

you are barely there
far beneath my heart
and though we’ve just begun
I know that we must part

now that you are gone
in heaven playing games
I have just one reget
that I never knew your name

Dedicated to my only baby.
